Girl reading on floor

General Information

The Children's Room at the Newbury Town Library
supports events that introduce literature into young patron's
lives in an entertaining and educational format.
Story Hour programs will be offered for all age levels.
The library houses a program room designed for these events.

Elementary school students are invited to tap into the extensive
children's room reference collection. Four internet accessible
computers are available in the Children's Room for student's use.

Children at every reading level can easily find an appropriate
reading selection. Picture books, easy readers, early chapter books and graphic novels
are marked for easy recognition. The juvenile fiction collection
continues to grow and includes many popular children's book series.

Entertaining and educational videos and compact disks are
also available in the children's room. Puppets,
including Clifford the Dog, Franklin the Turtle and Madeline,
are waiting for young patrons to bring them home for a two week period.

Many informative and humorous
parenting books are also located in the children's room.

Laurie Collins, Ruthie True, Ellen Alden and Pat Brodie
of the children's room staff are eager to help with book
selection and research projects for the library's youngest
patrons and their parents.
