Requesting Items from the Library Catalog
from your home computer
It's easy!

You can easily request books, dvds and more from the comfort
of home on your home computer or laptop.

There are only 2 things you will need :

Your library card
Your Pin number : the last 4 digits of your phone number

Here are the steps

Go to www.newburylibrary.org
Click on Catalog
Search for the item you are looking for (by title, author or subject)
When you find your item click on Request Item
Type in your library card barcode
Type in your pin (the last 4 digits of the phone number you used
when you registered for your library card)
Click Request

You will see your position in the queue, how you will be notified when the item comes in, and pick up location. If you wish to pick your item up at another library you can select that library in the previous screen.

Be sure to wait until the library contacts you, either by phone or by email, to come in for your item. Even if Newbury owns the item you are requesting, the item will not necessarily come right away and from Newbury.

You can designate your preferences for notification
by clicking on My Account.
You can also see what you already have checked out and have requested, renew items, cancel requests and change the dates to suspend your requests.

All materials are requestable except reference materials and issues of magazines. Call or visit the library to request magazines.

For more information on all that you can do with your library card from home visit www.mvlc.org and click on FAQS.
